Glasgow Caledonian University

Glasgow Caledonian University is located in the heart of the city centre (see map). It is across the street from Buchanan Bus Station and a short walk from Queen Street Station. Developer Day Scotland will be hosted in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Centre which is adjacent to the pedestrian entrance on Cowcaddens Road (see campus map).

 

By Car

The university is a short distance from Junction 16 of the M8. There is a pay-on-exit car park located on the opposite side of the street from the university. Parking from 9:00 to 17:00 would cost £13.20

 

By Train

Glasgow is served by two main line stations. The University is a brisk 5 minute walk from Queen Street Station and 15 minute walk from Central Station.

Queen Street Station serves north Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh and the West Highlands.

Central Station serves south Glasgow, Ayrshire and is the terminus for GNER services to London via Newcastle and York and Virgin Trains services via Manchester and Birmingham.

 

By Air

Glasgow is served by two airports. Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is to the west of the city and Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) is to the south-west of the city.

 

Glasgow International Airport

The #500 (Glasgow Flyer) is a frequent bus service from Glasgow International Airport direct to the city centre terminating at Buchanan Bus Station.

Taxis are also available and cost in the region of £18 to £20 to the city centre.

 

Glasgow Prestwick Airport

The X77 bus service takes passengers to Buchanan Bus Station.

Prestwick also boasts a rail service direct from the airport to Glasgow Central Station.
